Farewell Mohanis

Just a quick update to inform all that our beloved friend Mohanis Azar passed away this morning. At school, he is most remembered for his eloquence and language skills - which paves way for his active role in the debating team, and his subsequent career in the legal profession. My most memorable time with him was during my trip to Kota Bahru almost ten years ago when he was residing there, and was kind enough to accompany me explore KB's food bazaar. I'm sure all of you have good stories to share here. Also remember to forgive him for any wrongdoings, if there's any. May Allah bless his soul and let him rest in peace.

Al-fatihah...

I recommend you to contact Nasrun for more details. I personally believe Nasrun is one of Mohanis's close buddies.

For a short one, I was informed that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancreatic_cancer) sometime in July this year. I spoke to him a week before raya and he sounded very tired. So, I said to him to take enough rest, keep on fighting and let Him handles the rest.

When I heard about his disease through the group, I was speechless. I tried contacting him but to no avail. He must had been fully occupied then, and I was thinking that I'd be able to reach him, sooner or later.

When I read the news through the mail this morning, I became numb. My mind just went blank. What have I lost here; an opportunity that will never return.

May be if I tried hard enough, I'd be able to tell him how much I cherish the friendship we've had. Yes, once and very long time ago.

Alas, hanya doa mengiringi pemergiannya. Semoga mohanis bersemadi di bawah naungan Rahman dan Rahim Ilahi. Amin...

Abu & sahabat, who wouldn't, we are all brothers. Yes, Allahyarham had struggled over the last few months from critical 'pancreatic cancer', the illness that he only discovered at very last stage.

The last time I met him was when we (Fadzil and me joining Ron) paid a rush-visit at his house in TTDI in early Oct. That was before he left for KB/Machang to seek some treatment. He was the very same himself at that time, friendly and enjoy talking although in a very weak state of physical condition.

Sahabat, apa yg menyedihkan aku sendiri, kami tak sempat membantu lebih jauh lagi. Allahyarham, despite the doctor's remark, however still has all the spirit and courage to fight his illness.

Al-Fatihah.

A poignant reminder to all of the frailty of human life, more so to those among us who are far older than batch '88. So make the most of our friendship while we still can, if you can't meet physically at least exchange notes in cyberspace. Semoga roh arwah di tempatkan bersama para anbia'.

Heard about it when received sms from a UIA friend about Mohanis. Knew about his cancer earlier but didn't managed to speak to him as there was no answer from his mobile.

I did met him with his family once in Langkawi last year (if i'm not mistaken). He looked happy & much bigger size than he was in UIA & what more STAR. He was in his friendly and cheerful self. I was told by ex-UIA friends that managed to see him that he was quite frail and thin due to the cancer.

Will definately miss him and may Allah bless him. Please let me know the details of the donation.
